Police Release Surveillance Photos For Bethesda Bank Robbery

Police still searching for the suspect in the March 22 armed robbery of the Colombo Bank on Arlington Road.

Montgomery County police have released surveillace photos of a man suspected of

Armed with a handgun, the man robbed the bank at 6929 Arlington Road just after 10a.m. March 22. He stole cash and fled towards the Capital Crescent Trail. No one was injured.

Police are describing the suspect as a black male with a medium complexion, in his mid-50s, five feet, nine inches to six feet tall, and weighing between 190 and 195 pounds. He had short, salt and pepper hair, police said. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants, large-frame glasses, possibly with a yellow tint, and a red baseball cap with a white "SOX" logo. He was carrying a red drawstring bag, which some described as a pizza warmer bag.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact Montgomery Count Police’s robbery section at 240-773-5100.  Those who wish to remain anonymous can also call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or at 240-773-TIPS (8477). Crimes Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the robbery.
