Police Release Surveillance Video Of Bethesda Armed Robbery Suspects

BETHESDA, MD — Montgomery County police released surveillance video on Wednesday of suspects in an armed robbery earlier this month in downtown Bethesda.

The armed robbery occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, when the two suspects approached a man who was walking toward a parking garage in the 4900 block of Cordell Avenue.

One of the suspects grabbed a necklace off the victim’s neck and started running toward the parking garage. As the suspect was running, he dropped his mobile phone, police said.

When the man attempted to pick up the suspect’s phone, the suspect pulled a handgun from his waistband and used it to strike the man in the face, causing the man to fall to the ground. Both suspects fled the area in a silver-colored vehicle, according to police.
