Retirement In Sight For Maryland Lottery Winner From Chevy Chase

A player from Chevy Chase scored a $50,000 prize when the Bonus Match 5 numbers were drawn on Jan. 31, according to the Maryland Lottery.

BETHESDA, MD — An anonymous player from Montgomery County scored a $50,000 prize when the Bonus Match 5 numbers were drawn on Jan. 31, according to the Maryland Lottery.

The Chevy Chase resident purchased six draws for $4 and matched the fifth line of personal numbers exactly for the win. Although the Bonus Ball was 7, it didn’t come into play for the win because it only figures into lower-tier prizes.

Part of the game’s bonus is that there’s a discount for buying in bulk. A single combination costs $1 while three combinations cost $2, four cost $3, six cost $4, seven cost $5 and nine cost $6.

In addition, he plans to give his wife $10,000 of the windfall.
