National Restaurant And Brewery Closes Only MD Location

Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery has closed its only Maryland location after nearly three decades serving food and drinks.

BETHESDA, MD — Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery, 7900 Norfolk Ave. in Bethesda, has shuttered its only Maryland location after nearly three decades serving food and drinks.

The MoCo Show reported a sign on the restaurant door said, “Rock Bottom would like to thank this community for the past 29 years. Serving you has been a pleasure. Unfortunately, Rock Bottom is now Permanently Closed.”

The restaurant is also listed as permanently closed on Google and the phone is not being answered during regular business hours.

According to Rock Bottom, the chain's first restaurant opened in downtown Denver in 1991. Several years ago, Rock Bottom had 17 locations across the United States, but only 11 are listed on its website currently, including the Bethesda site.
