For Second Day In A Row, MoCo Adds More Than 200 New COVID Cases
For the second day in a row, the number of new daily COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County surpassed 200.

BETHESDA, MD — Montgomery County on Friday recorded more than 200 new daily COVID-19 cases for the second day in a row.
The latest addition of 219 cases, according to the Maryland Department of Health, pushes the countywide total to 26,996 infections.
It comes a day after the County Council delayed a vote to reinstate certain COVID-19 restrictions proposed by County Executive Marc Elrich (D). Councilmembers postponed the vote until Tuesday, Nov. 10, citing the need for public input.

On Friday , the county added four more deaths, bringing its fatality count to 845.
Forty-one others, health officials say, may have had the virus but died before ever getting tested. For now, they are considered "probable deaths." They won't be added to the official death toll until they are confirmed by a lab test.

Both Montgomery and Prince George's counties have the highest number of deaths in the state. Montgomery has the second highest number of confirmed cases (26,996), after Prince George's County, which has 34,070, according to the latest figures.
Across Maryland, there have been 151,505 cases, 4,046 confirmed deaths, and 148 "probable deaths." Of the 609 people that are currently hospitalized, 152 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
