Skateboarder Killed In Wheaton Hit-And-Run, Driver Sought: Police
A man riding a skateboard early Monday on Veirs Mill Road was fatally hit by an Acura, whose driver then fled, Montgomery Co. police said.
WHEATON, MD — A man riding a skateboard just after midnight Monday in Wheaton was fatally hit by an Acura, whose driver then fled, Montgomery County Police said. Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the driver involved in the crash.
The collision happened about 12:02 a.m. near Veirs Mill Road and Monterrey Drive as the pedestrian was riding his skateboard in the roadway of westbound Veirs Mill Road, just before Monterrey Drive. He was hit by a white Acura TL traveling westbound.
Police said the driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene.

The Acura, estimated to be a 2009 model, has damage to the front right corner, including a missing portion of the bumper cover and a missing/broken headlight, fog light and parking light. It may also have damage to the windshield and/or window.
Police have not released the name of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
