How do you know the teacher?

Jennifer Corpuz has been the teacher to our daughter Wilaya Johnson at Wonders at Edgemoor.

Jennifer represents for us what love of teaching and love of learning are all about. She has taught us as parents that there is no age too young to begin to learn and feel and grow based on sensory engagement with the world around us.

With her lesson plans, activities, and genuine affection for Wilaya and desire to see Wilaya learn and grow, from her earliest days, Wilaya has come to value the joy, the wonder, and the happiness of learning.

The poet William Blake speaks about seeing the world in a grain of sand and seeing heaven in a wildflower. Jennifer has taught Wilaya to see the world this way every day -- thanks to Jennifer, Wilaya has gently held a ladybug in her hand that she found on the playground and become a mini naturalist, she has donned an apron to make blueberry muffins from scratch and become a chef, she has painted pinecones and murals and been an artist, she has hammered at ice blocks and conducted scientific exploration.

Whether reading a book or making her own stories, Wilaya has been supported and cheered and guided by Jennifer every step of the way. We hope that Jennifer can be recognized and celebrated for her efforts!
