Teens Arrested In Connection With 2 Chevy Chase Carjackings: PD

A 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with two carjackings in Chevy Chase, police said.

BETHESDA, MD — Two D.C. teenagers have been arrested in connection with two carjackings that occurred in Chevy Chase last week.

Montgomery County police said the teens — identified only as a 14-year-old female and a 15-year-old male — were arrested in the District on Saturday.

The first carjacking reportedly took place Thursday afternoon in the 2600 block of Spencer Lane. According to police, the suspects ordered the female victim to give them the keys to her Mercedes-Benz C300, and the boy punched her.

A second carjacking was reported the following afternoon, in the 4800 block of Essex Ave. Police said the teens ordered the female victim to hand over the keys to her Audi Q5.

In a statement released Monday, the Montgomery County Police Department said it was applying for charges through the Department of Juvenile Services.

The teens, who were arrested over the weekend by D.C. police, are believed to be behind at least three other carjackings in Northwest Washington. The carjackings reportedly took place between Jan. 19 and 21. More information about those incidents can be found here.
