This Weekend: What To Know If You’re Taking Metro

Planning on hopping the Red Line this weekend? Here’s a few things to know, according to WMATA:

• On the Friday, Veterans Day holiday, Metrorail will operate on a Saturday schedule. Trains will begin operating at 5 a.m. and close at 3 a.m.
• Also on Friday, Metrobus will be operating on Saturday schedule with additional trips on certain routes. For more information, check your bus timetable.
• Metro Access will be operating on a regular schedule Friday, with subscription trips cancelled.
• The Shady Grove and Twinbrook stations will close between 11 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday to allow for signal system repairs. Free shuttle buses will be provided between Shady Grove and Rockville.
• Customers riding the Red Line through the work zone during those hours should add an extra 15 minutes to their travel time.
• On the Green Line, four stations will be closed for switch replacement work from 10 p.m. Thursday through closing Sunday: Waterfront, Navy Yard, Anacostia and Congress Heights. Check WMATA’s press release for more information.
