This Weekend: What To Know If You're Taking Metro
New Year's Eve and Day service information from WMATA.
Planning on hopping the Red Line this holiday weekend? Here's a few things to know, according to WMATA:
- No weekend track work is scheduled over the New Year's holiday weekend, from Friday, Dec. 30 through Monday, Jan. 2.
- Extra afternoon trains will run Friday for those passangers leaving work early.
- Metro trains will operate on normal weekend schedules Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, New Year's Eve, trains will run until 3 a.m. early Sunday morning.
- On Monday, trains will run on a holiday schedule, from 7 a.m. until midnight. Buses will operate on a Sunday schedule.
