Video Of Suspect In Bethesda Delivery Truck Theft Released By Police

Police released surveillance video of the theft of a delivery truck in Bethesda, hoping the public will help in identifying the suspect.

BETHESDA, MD — The Montgomery County Police Department on Tuesday released surveillance video of the theft of a delivery truck in Bethesda that occurred in October, hoping the public will help in identifying the suspect.

Around 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, police officers responded to the 7500 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda for the report of a theft from a delivery truck. The police investigation determined that the suspect entered the delivery truck, stole property and left the scene.

A member of the public witnessed the burglary and followed the suspect into the Bethesda Metro Station. When the suspect noticed he was being followed, he demanded that the citizen stop and pulled up his sweatshirt, revealing a handgun in his waistband, police said. The suspect then entered a white Lexus and left the scene.

The suspect is described as a Black male, about 6-feet, 1-inch tall and weighing 200 pounds, police said. He was wearing a baseball hat, white face mask, a hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and gloves.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.
