Why Drawing Matter

The importance of drawing are highlighted in this article which encourages individuals to become more creative through the act of drawing.

"Drawing is a way of Seeing!" - Vian Borchert

Why Drawing matter?
It is through drawing that one starts to see things on a much deeper level allowing the right side of the brain to come alive with every line drawn. Throughout this creative endeavor and experience, a channeling to the cognitive gateway occurs and opens up to allow the brain to better visually understand how space and shape come together. This in return, helps make one a skilled artist through proper observational skills which also leads to better problem solving. Drawing, in a gist creates a healthy mindset to approaching not only art matters but life altogether.

In seasoned artist and art instructor, Vian Borchert's upcoming "Beginning to Intermediates Drawing" art class held in person and onsite at Glen Echo Park via the Yellow Barn Studio, Borchert introduces the students to the ABC's of Drawing from simple line drawing to creating forms, shading and using multiple drawing mediums from graphite pencils to charcoal, pen and ink and colored pencils to provide a well-rounded experience and approach to everything drawing. Also, art educator, Borchert, presents demos of line marks in every class to themes presented in each session. Course covers a variety of studies such as still life, floral artwork, birds and more. The class is designed for beginning and intermediate students.

About the "IN BLOOM" Art Exhibition:

In Vian Borchert’s expressive paintings, the cherry blossom artwork represents a conceptual motif that explores ideas of renewal, growth, the beauty of fleeting moments as well as the transient nature of life. The works are deeply tied to symbolism of spring, new beginnings, and impermanence. Much like the fleeting blooms, Borchert aims through her work to represent the fragility of life and the constant cycle of change. The paintings also express a sense of serenity and hope while evoking the idea of embracing the present and acknowledging life’s cyclical nature reinforcing the appreciation of the beauty around us before it fades. Borchert aims through her modern landscapes to evoke a call to pause and focus on nature’s ephemeral beauty and our place within it. Hence, Borchert aspires through her abstracted landscapes to bring attention to the beauty and delicate moments that exist in life, encouraging reflection and mindfulness.
