1 Man Killed, Teen Injured In Oxon Hill Shooting Near D.C. Border
One man has died and a teen injured during a shooting in Oxon Hill Wednesday afternoon, according to Prince George's Police.
OXON HILL, MD — One man is dead and a teenager injured after a shooting happened Wednesday shortly after 2 p.m. in the 5100 block of Indian Head Highway.
According to Prince George's Police, the fatal shooting happened in an area that's half a block from the Washington, D.C., border and is near the Eastover Shopping center. The police department posted on X that one of the two males shot died at the scene while the second male, a teenager, was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
Detectives are on scene working to establish suspect(s) and a motive in this case, the police department stated.

Tara Jackson, interim state's attorney for Prince George's County, said that "violence will not be tolerated."
"Today, two people were shot, one fatally, in an incident in Oxon Hill. I am deeply troubled by the apparent reckless disregard of those who are using guns to hurt others. Violence will not be tolerated, and we will do everything possible, in partnership with our police departments, to hold those who are responsible accountable for their actions. Our families - your families - deserve to feel safe in their neighborhoods without fear of violence," Jackson said in a statement.
