$10K+ Raised For Victim In Fatal PG County Popeyes Stabbing
The community is trying to raise money to help pay for the funeral of Kevin "KD" Tyrell Davis.

OXON HILL, MD — The community has raised more than $10,000 as of Monday afternoon for the funeral expenses of 28-year-old Kevin "KD" Tyrell Davis, the victim in a fatal stabbing outside of a Popeyes in Oxon Hill that made national headlines earlier this month.
A GoFundMe organized by Yolanda Barnes on Nov. 6, two days after his killing, has so far brought in $10,533 out of a $20,000 goal.
"KD was the light and heart of his family and friends, with a smile as bright as the sun," the fundraising page states. "At any moment, he would have anyone laughing with his numerous jokes. He thoroughly enjoyed life and lived every day to its fullest. He truly lived his 'best life!' He enjoyed creating music and the company of his community. KD will be dearly missed by all those who had the honor of knowing him."

Police believe McClain and Davis had argued over Davis "butting in line" at the restaurant, which had recently unveiled its popular chicken sandwich. They took the argument outside and within seconds, Davis was stabbed, police say.

Prince George's County Police Chief Hank Stawinski told reporters earlier this month that Davis entered the store and methodically cut in line over the next 15 minutes, and once he made it to the counter someone behind him confronted him. Fifteen seconds later, he was on the sidewalk in front of the store with stab wounds that would prove fatal, Stawinski said.
Stawinski said numerous children and their families were in the store and were left in shock by the incident.
Prince George's County Police spokeswoman Jennifer Donelan previously told reporters that the argument started at 7 p.m. Nov. 4 between two men inside the Popeyes at 6247 Livingston Road who were in line for the recently re-released sandwich.
"For you to get that angry over anything ... is a very sad and tragic day, and that person needs to turn himself in," she said.
Police arrived and tried to save the man's life, but he died 51 minutes later at the hospital, Donelan said.
"It's just hard to put into words," she said.
