8-Year-Old Impresses Police Officers In Video Of Foot Race

An 8-year-old who challenged Hyattsville police officers to a foot race couldn't stop grinning after he passed by one almost beat another.

While responding to a call for service, Squad 1 ran into 8-year-old Elijah Brown-Proctor. He was excited to see the officers and challenged them to a foot race. The Hyattsville Police Department shared on Facebook that two officers raced Elijah.

HYATTSVILLE, MD — A video of two Hyattsville police officers racing a speedy 8-year-old has won the hearts of many residents.

While responding to a call for service, Squad 1 ran into 8-year-old Elijah Brown-Proctor. He was excited to see the officers and challenged them to a foot race. The Hyattsville Police Department shared on Facebook that two officers raced Elijah while the third officer was the judge.

"The results were … surprisingly close. As you can see from the photo, Elijah was extremely proud. You’re going places, kid. Preferably on the force," the Hyattsville Police Department stated.
