PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Prince George's County Police are honoring the life and legacy of a 16-year veteran of the force, Corp. Marquette Turner, who died Sunday morning.

Police said in a statement that Turner died during a "medical emergency."

"The well-liked, dedicated officer spent the majority of his career assigned to the Bureau of Patrol – at the District IV station in Oxon Hill," the statement reads. "Corporal Turner grew up in Washington DC. Prior to joining the Prince George’s County Police Department, he served in the Army. He loved serving others in the military and as a police officer and he truly loved the Washington Redskins."

Turner is survived by four children, a sister, a brother, and a mother, along with many other relatives.

"We offer our deepest condolences to his entire family," the statement reads.
