2 People Killed Over The Weekend In Car Crashes In Prince George's County

Two people were killed over the weekend in car crashes that involved the vehicles they were driving. Police are investigating both cases.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Two people died in separate fatal crashes over the weekend in Adelphi and Fort Washington, according to police.

On June 20 around 6:15 p.m., Prince George's police officers responded to a collision involving two vehicles in the 8400 block of Allentown Road. A driver, 42-year-old Sirlena Moore of Capitol Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in her vehicle and the driver of the second vehicle were taken to a hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening, according to Prince George's Police.

The preliminary investigation indicates Moore was traveling southbound on Allentown Road when, for reasons currently under investigation, her vehicle crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, police reported.

On June 22 at approximately 3:40 a.m., Prince George's police officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on New Hampshire Avenue approaching Metzerott Road. Olvin Canan Agustin, 23, of Hyattsville was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The preliminary investigation indicates Canan Agustin was traveling northbound on New Hampshire Avenue when, for reasons currently being investigated, he lost control and hit a utility pole, police reported.
