Arrest Made In 2023 Murder Of Langley Park Man
Prince George's Police have arrested a suspect wanted in connection to the 2023 murder of a Langley Park man.
LANGLEY PARK, MD — A Hyattsville man has been arrested and charged in connection to the 2023 murder of a Langley Park resident.
On June 10, 2023, around 2:50 a.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 8100 block of 14th Avenue for the report of a shooting. Officers found 22-year-old Aristides Flores Rosales of Langley Park inside an apartment building with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man also was shot and survived his injuries, according to Prince George's Police.
In August 2024, the PGPD’s gun crimes unit arrested 33-year-old Rudy Lopez-Garcia in connection to an unrelated shooting without injuries. Following that arrest, detectives obtained a warrant to search Lopez-Garcia's home. During that search, two guns were found and one of those guns was linked to the murder of Rosales. The investigation led detectives to charge Lopez-Garcia with the 2023 murder, the police department stated.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Lopez-Garcia shot Flores Rosales after a dispute. They did not know each other. Lopez-Garcia has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
