Bowie Holiday House Decorating Contest
Deck the halls and enter to win prizes by Dec. 8.

If you take your holiday decorations as seriously as Clark Griswold from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, you’ll want to listen up!
There will be a holiday decorating contest for houses in Bowie.
Decorations will be evaluated on creativity, appearance, and effort and will be entered in one of the three categories:

- Traditional: White or colored lights, Santa Claus and friends, children’s fantasies, etc.
- Religious: Any denomination
- Colonial: White lights, candles in the windows, greenery, Williamsburg look

Four prizes will be awarded:

- Pirmohamed Family Award: $100 for incorporating methods to involve children and family interaction
- Mateik-Pitts Family Award: $100 for best first time entries
- Best of Bowie Awards: White House Ornament
- Bowie Spirit Awards: Belair Mansion Ornament
People and animals cannot be included in the exhibit and houses will be judged from street view.
All participants must enter by submitting the form to City Hall by 5 p.m. Dec. 8 and judging will take place 6 to 11 p.m. Dec. 10.
