Contractor Charged With Sexually Assaulting Renter: Hyattsville Police

A renter in Hyattsville told officers she was sexually assaulted by a contractor working at her property, according to Hyattsville Police.

HYATTSVILLE, MD — A contractor has been arrested after Hyattsville Police say he sexually assaulted a woman who was in her home while the suspect was working on the property.

According to the Hyattsville Police Department, on July 26, a woman walked into the police station and said she was sexually assaulted July 24 around 9 a.m. by a contractor who was at her property to perform maintenance work.

One of the contractors started talking to the victim and then grabbed her breast and kissed her without her consent. The victim pushed him away and escaped to another room. When the contractor went back to his work area, the victim left the house, she told police.

The contractor has been arrested and charged with fourth degree sexual offense, according to police.
