Driver Identified Who Died After Slamming Into Barriers

A driver killed Saturday when his vehicle slammed into a barrier and jersey walls has been identified, Prince George's County police said.

OXON HILL, MD — A driver who died early Saturday morning when his vehicle slammed into a barrier and jersey walls has been identified, Prince George's County police said Monday.

Investigators said 31-year-old Patrick Bernard Williams Jr. of Oxon Hill died in the crash that happened about 2:20 a.m. Saturday. The single-vehicle collision happened on northbound Indian Head Highway and the Kerby Hill Road overpass in Oxon Hill, according to a news release from police.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Police said Williams was northbound on Indian Head Highway, when, for reasons under investigation, his vehicle struck a protective barrier and then jersey walls.
