Driver Killed After Losing Control, Crashing Into Tree

A driver has died after police say the person lost control of its vehicle and crashed into the tree. The driver hasn't been identified yet.

FORT WASHINGTON, MD — A driver has died in a single vehicle crash that happened near Forte Foote Road and Oxon Hill Road in Fort Washington Sunday around 11:25 p.m.

According to the Prince George's Police Department, the driver's identity will be release once next of kin has been notified.

On Aug. 24, officers were called to the area for a report of a vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver was traveling on Oxon Hill Road when, for reasons still being investigated, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. The driver died at the scene.
