CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD — A GoFundMe has been set up for a Maryland mom of four who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Virginia over Labor Day Weekend.
Virginia State Police reported that Capitol Heights resident Tyneeka Strickland, 34, lost control of the Cadillac she was driving and went airborne after hitting a guard rail and a traffic sign.
According to Virginia State Police, deputies were called at around 5:15 a.m. to the westbound lanes of I-495 near the 177-mile marker in Alexandria for a report of a crash. Investigators said that a 2017 Cadillac XTS was heading west on I-495 when the vehicle went off the left side of the road, hit a guardrail then an exit sign, and went airborne before landing in a ditch. Strickland was not wearing a seat belt, police said, and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

"It can be a lot, but I thank you for all the support you have given so far. Again, whatever you can provide will be greatly appreciated. May the Lord bless you for your willingness to support this cause. In Jesus' name!," Strickland wrote.
