Holiday Event Actually Is A Scam, City Officials Say

Greenbelt officials have stated on social media that a holiday event planned for December seeking payment for tickets is a scam.

GREENBELT, MD — City officials are warning residents that a fake event has been created for the holidays in Greenbelt to be held at a city building, but in reality it is a scam.

The event, called Jingle and Mingle Market Extravaganza, has been promoted as being held Dec. 6-7 at 25 Crescent Road, which is the Greenbelt Municipal Building.

"This event is not affiliated with the city of Greenbelt and is a scam. Please stay alert - do not send money or payments through digital apps," the city stated on social media.
