Inmate Takes Own Life At PG County Jail: Authorities
An inmate has committed suicide at the Prince George's County Department of Corrections.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — An inmate has committed suicide at the Prince George's County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, authorities say.
The county issued a statement saying the inmate committed suicide at around noon on Saturday, Sept. 21.
"The Housing Unit Officer, who discovered the detainee, employed life saving techniques until the Department’s Emergency Response Team and medical staff arrived," the statement reads. "The detainee was subsequently pronounced dead."

Police conducted an assessment at the scene along with the Department of Corrections' Internal Affairs. They do not believe any foul play was involved.
The county is declining to release the inmate's identity at this time. The State Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy.
