Labor Day 2019 In PG County: What's Open, What's Closed
The unofficial start of fall is right around the corner. Here's what to expect as far as what will be closed in the area on Labor Day 2019.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — For some people, this is the most wonderful time of the year: schools are opening, football is back on TV, and the trees are getting ready to fade from green. It also means Labor Day is almost here.
Labor Day is a federal holiday always celebrated on the first Monday in September. It is intended to honor the American labor movement and the contributions workers have made to this country. Labor Day was started in the late 19th century, promoted by unions which organized the first parade in New York City.
Labor Day means lots of closures in our area, but some places will be open. Here's what you can expect for Prince George's County, according to a statement from the county:

*Facility only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday*
TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), will not operate on Monday, September 2, 2019. Regular operations of TheBus will resume on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. In addition, the County’s Call-A-Bus service, including dialysis transportation, will not operate on Monday, September 2, 2019. Regular operations of the Call-A-Bus services will resume on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2019. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
In addition, Prince George’s CountyClick 3-1-1 will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2019 and will resume regular operations on Tuesday, September 3, 2019; 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/.
