Little Girl, Big Dreams: Bowie Gymnast Eyes Nationals
Bowie resident McKenzie Edwards has big dreams. Here's how you can help make them come true.

At first glance, McKenzie Edwards is a smiling, adorable little girl.
What you can't see is that she's also a tenacious and determined Level 4 gymnast with he heart set on Nationals in Nevada this year.
McKenzie won the Maryland State Championship in her age group for the vault. Now, she has the opportunity to go to Nationals, but not the funds necessary to cover travel expenses, competition fees and a week in Nevada.
She's been working hard, selling cookies and cakes to raise money, and her mom got a job wrapping presents at the mall to help with costs, but it's not enough. Here's where the community has been stepping up to help this little girl realize her dream.
A month ago McKenzie and her mom, Rachel Phillips Edwards, launched a GoFundMe page to try and raise the estimated $1,800 to cover Nationals expenses. In one month, Mckenzie is nearly half way to her goal, having raised $940 dollars.
