Man Arrested In Attack On Woman In College Park: Police
Police have arrested a man they say assaulted a woman in the College Park area.
COLLEGE PARK, MD — An 18-year-old was arrested in connection with an assault on a woman recently in College Park, police say.
Police have arrested Vashann Robinson of Greenbelt, who they say approached a woman in the 4400 block of Guilford Drive at around 10 p.m. on Aug. 6 claiming that he needed help finding a lost dog, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.
"After initially declining to help, he approached the victim approximately 30 minutes later and again asked for her assistance," the report states. "As the suspect and victim walked together, the suspect grabbed the victim from behind and attempted to drag her to a nearby parking lot. The suspect released the victim when a witness shouted at the suspect."

The victim had no injuries. Police identified Robinson based on surveillance video and took him into custody, and he has since admitted his involvement in the crime, the report says.
He faces charges of attempted kidnapping, second-degree assault, and related charges. He is being held without bond.
