Murder Charges Filed In Shooting Of Acquaintance In Seat Pleasant

A Seat Pleasant man has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of his acquaintance from Baltimore, police say.

SEAT PLEASANT, MD — Murder charges have been filed against the suspect wanted in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in Seat Pleasant last month, and the accused shooter has been arrested.

On May 16 shortly after 9:30 a.m., the Prince George's Police Department was notified of a shooting in the 6400 block of Greig Street in Seat Pleasant that killed 51-year-old Timothy Furr of Baltimore. The suspect wanted in the shooting was seen later walking into his apartment building on Greig Street. A barricade was ordered by police and the PGPD’s Emergency Services Team responded to the apartment. They were able to take the suspect into custody without incident, according to the police department.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Furr and the suspect, 37-year-old Ray Eugene Williams of Seat Pleasant, knew each other and Williams shot Furr during an argument, police reported.
