Man Found Injured In Road After Being Hit By Vehicle Driven By Teen: Police

A Beltsville man has died after police say he was hit by a teenager in the road outside his home with whom he was involved in a dispute.

BELTSVILLE, MD — A 67-year-old Beltsville man has died after he was found injured in the road.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, on July 24 around 10:40 p.m., officers were called to the 11400 block of Rhode Island Avenue for a report of a shooting. They found 67-year-old Neville Robinson of Beltsville in the road with what officers thought was a gunshot wound. However, detectives discovered that Robinson instead had been hit by a vehicle outside his home, the police department reported.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Robinson was later determined to be a 16-year-old boy from Bowie who has been identified and located. The preliminary investigation indicates the teenager and Robinson had been involved in an ongoing dispute. On the night Robinson was injured, the teenager had gone to Robinson’s home. Robinson came outside and fired a weapon at the teenager as the teen was driving away. The teenager was uninjured, the police department stated.
