Man Killed After Crashing Vehicle Into Trees

A Laurel man had died after Prince George's Police say he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into several trees.

LAUREL, MD — Detectives are investigating a fatal crash that happened early Tuesday morning.

On Aug. 12, Prince George's police officers were called to the 11400 block of Laurel Bowie Road for a crash that had happened around 12:05 a.m. They found 40-year-old Louis Sanchez Smith of Laurel dead at the scene, police reported.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Smith was traveling southbound on Laurel Bowie Road, when for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the vehicle and hit multiple trees, the police department disclosed.
