PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The first Black-owned brewery in Prince George's County recently shone on the national stage at the Samuel Adams Brewing & Business Experienceship in New York.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Andrew and Jasmine Dill, what started as a homebrewing hobby during the pandemic grew into a mission-driven craft beer brand.

"Liquid Intrusion Brewing Company officially launched in 2021, though the vision had been brewing long before that. We’re proud to be Prince George’s County’s first Black-owned brewery—and one of the few Black-owned breweries in the country," Andrew Dill told Patch. "We’re a husband-and-wife team alongside our business partner and CFO, Michael Catudal. Together, we combine passion, purpose and business strategy to build something bigger than beer."

Dill said it was an honor to have been one of five breweries from across the country to participate in the Experienceship.

"It’s been an incredible honor. The Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream Experienceship is more than a contest—it’s a platform that recognizes breweries using beer to drive change. Being named a finalist affirms that our intrusion is making waves—and encouraging others to dream differently," Dill told Patch.

While based in Prince George's County, Liquid Intrusion Brewing Company operates as a contract brewery, producing their beer through Oliver Brewing Company in Baltimore.

"It's one of Maryland’s oldest and most respected breweries. This model allows us to stay agile and focused on expanding our distribution, storytelling and customer connections. Right now, our beer is available in over 200 accounts across Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Delaware," Dill told Patch. "We’re proud to be based in Prince George’s County, one of the most affluent African American counties in the country. That’s intentional. We’re building a brand rooted in access, representation and culture—right in the heart of the community that raised us."

Not only was Liquid Intrusion Brewing Company created to make a difference and make waves, as Dill said, "We’re here to intrude."

"Liquid Intrusion Brewing Company was built to disrupt the outdated stereotypes that still linger in the craft beer industry. We don’t care who you are, where you come from or how you identify—we care about the liquid. Period," Dill told Patch. "At LIBCO, our mission is simple: brew world-class beer that invites everyone to the table. No gatekeeping. No pretension. If we stay true to the craft and to our people, may the liquid always prevail."

People who fall in love with Liquid Intrusion Brewing Company should check out the following items recommended by Dill:

• South of DC Cream Ale (5% ABV) – Crisp, clean and easy-drinking. The perfect intro to craft beer.
• African Queen and Her 7 C’s IPA (6% ABV) – A fruit-forward IPA made with South African hops, delivering bright citrus and berry notes.
• Saison du Zest (7% ABV) – A dry, citrusy saison brewed with lemongrass, built for food pairings or solo sipping.

Dill added that the brewery recently created the following:
• Maryland Maverick (8% ABV) – A hazy DIPA brewed with Forward Brewing to honor Governor Wes Moore and Maryland’s fearless leadership.
• Neon Love Affair (5.3% ABV) – A smooth porter brewed with strawberries, cocoa nibs, and vanilla, made in collaboration with Mully’s Brewery—another husband-and-wife-owned business.
• Chocolate City Porter (7% ABV) – A collaboration with all the Black-owned breweries of the DMV and Third Hill Brewing in Silver Spring. It’s a rich, roasty nod to DC’s cultural legacy—a reminder that while the city may be changing, the soul of Chocolate City still runs deep.
