A first look at New Year's Eve suggests it will be a cold one, with a threat for snow showers to usher in the new year. Here's the forecast
The final week of 2016 will be a wild mix of near 60-degree weather, two chances for snow showers and lows dipping into the mid-20s. And one of those chances for snow showers is New Year's Eve, according to the National Weather Service.
There's a chance for rain through mid-day Tuesday, with the high reaching near 60 degrees. Wind gusts Tuesday could reach 20 mph.
Expect a much colder Wednesday, with highs reaching near 43 degrees, with a chance for rain or snow showers Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, according to the weather service. The chance for any precipitation is 50 percent.

Friday's high will be near 39 degrees, with temperatures Friday night falling to a low around 25 degrees.
New Year's Eve will be cool and sunny, with a chance for rain and snow showers Saturday night and into New Year's Day. The chance for precipitation is 30 percent.
