Maryland State Trooper Hit By Tesla While Investigating Crash In Prince George's County
A Maryland State Patrol trooper was hit by a passing vehicle while investigating a crash on the Capital Beltway Saturday.

GREENBELT, MD — A Maryland State Patrol trooper was hit by the driver of a Tesla early Saturday morning while investigating a crash on the Capital Beltway.
At approximately 2:44 a.m. June 21, troopers from the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack were called to the area of inner loop I-495 at Greenbelt Road for a report of a trooper-involved crash. A preliminary investigation indicates that the trooper was in his marked patrol vehicle when a gray Tesla, driven by Teo Kim, 34, of Hanover, hit the back of the patrol vehicle, which had all of its emergency lights activated, the Maryland State Patrol reported.
The trooper was taken by ambulance to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he was treated and released. Kim was taken by ambulance to Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center.

Investigators believe impairment may have been a contributing circumstance in the crash, the Maryland State Police reported.
The Maryland State Police College Park Barrack is leading the investigation and charges are pending after troopers consult with the Office of the State’s Attorney in Prince George’s County. The investigation remains active and ongoing, the state patrol reported.
