Bowie Man Accused Of Pulling Gun During Road Rage Incident: Police

Maryland State Police said the road rage encounter occurred earlier this month. A Bowie man faces multiple charges in the case.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A Bowie man is facing charges after Maryland State Police said he pulled a gun on a person during a road rage incident in Prince George's County.

Justus McDougal, 24, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first- and second-degree assault, using a firearm during a felony crime and other related charges in connection with the Aug. 7 incident, state police said in a news release.

According to authorities, Maryland State Police received an emergency call from a driver around 3:25 p.m. The person told them another driver pointed a gun at them while traveling on Central Avenue in the area of Landover Road in Prince George’s County.

Following an investigation, troopers identified McDougal as the suspect.

On Tuesday, state police served a search warrant at McDougal’s home in Bowie and found a handgun, an AR-pistol without serial numbers, high-capacity magazines and additional evidence. Police said McDougal also attempted to destroy his phone during the search.
