Police Officer Charged After Pointing Gun At Wife During Fight
A Prince George's police officer faces charges after officials say he pointed a gun at her during a fight at their home.
WALDORF, MD — A Prince George's police officer has been arrested for pointing a gun during an argument with his wife, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
According to charging documents, a Charles County Sheriff’s officer was called to the District Three Station in Waldorf on Aug. 14 at approximately 3:14 p.m., after receiving a report of a domestic assault. The officer interviewed the women who said her husband, Tyrone Daniel Thomas, 48, pointed a gun at her April 7 at their home in Waldorf while they were arguing. The woman told the officer that one of Thomas' daughters told him that she was being unfaithful, the Southern Maryland News Net reported.
Later that night, Thomas returned home from a part-time assignment, still wearing his Prince George’s County Police Department uniform, and went into their bedroom closet to retrieve his gun from the safe. When he left the closet, she asked what he was doing and that's when he pulled out his agency-issued gun, pointed it at her and said, “Say another word and I’ll shoot you in the face," she told police. Then he left the home, the SMNN reported.
