Road Rage Driver Who Fired Gunshots Sought By Police

Greenbelt police detectives are asking for the public's help in finding a driver involved in a road rage incident.

GREENBELT, MD — Police officers are asking for the public's help in finding the driver involved in an road rage incident that happened during rush hour Aug. 12.

About 5:35 p.m., a man was driving on Kenilworth Avenue near Edmonston Road when another driver nearly collided with him. The other driver estimated to be in his late 30s or early or 40s. He was driving a newer model silver or gray four-door Lexus sedan and swerved across multiple lanes, according to Greenbelt Police.

When the victim confronted the driver, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot at him. The victim managed to drive away in an attempt to escape, while the suspect followed, firing two additional shots that hit the victim's vehicle before taking off down Greenbelt Road. Fortunately, the victim received medical treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening, police officers said.
