Scooter Driver Killed After Losing Control, Crashing Into Median

A scooter driver has died after police say he lost control and crashed into a median. The driver hasn't been identified yet by police.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — A person driving a scooter on University Boulevard has died after police say the individual lost control and hit a median.

The incident happened Sept. 16 around 2:25 p.m. in the area of University Boulevard and Baltimore Avenue. Prince George's Police has not identified the scooter operator until family can be notified.

The preliminary investigation indicates the scooter was heading westbound on University Boulevard when, for reasons still being investigated, the operator lost control of the scooter and hit a median. The driver was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, the police department stated.
