Student Reports Stranger Standing Over Her Bed: UMD Police
A University of MD student living in an apartment told police she awoke to a stranger touching her leg while she was asleep in bed.
COLLEGE PARK, MD — A University of Maryland student living in a Leonardtown apartment reported to police that she woke up to an unknown man in her bedroom, touching her leg while she had been sleeping.
The incident happened Sept. 12 around 5 a.m. at the Leonardtown Apartments located in the 7500 block of Yale Avenue. The women reported the incident on Sept. 15 around 4 p.m. She said she was woken up by the unknown man who had touched her leg while she was asleep. The student told police the suspect appeared to be college-aged and was wearing khaki shorts but no shirt, UMD Police reported.
After touching her leg and waking her up, the student told police the man walked away, faced her closet for a few minutes, then left the apartment. He never spoke to her. Nothing appeared to be stolen from the apartment, but it has been classified as a burglary, the police department stated.
