Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting Spree Targeting Random Victims
An Upper Marlboro man has been arrested for his role in a fatal shooting spree that killed one man, injured two and targeted another.
UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A suspect has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting and other non-fatal shootings that happened Sunday in Upper Marlboro.
Around 7:20 a.m. Sunday, Prince George's police officers were called to the area of Watkins Park Plaza for a report of an unresponsive man. Once there, they found 65-year-old Joseph Holt III inside his vehicle with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene, according to police.
While heading to the scene, District II – Bowie Station patrol officers were notified of multiple shootings in the area of Darlenen Street and also Cambleton Drive. Officers found a man shot inside his vehicle and another shooting victim inside her vehicle. Another person was shot at while in their vehicle, police reported.

Officers immediately began searching the area for the suspect and within minutes, they found a person of interest, 26-year-old Damonte Marcel Williams of Upper Marlboro, and took him into custody. A weapon also was recovered, which has been linked to the fatal shooting of Holt.
The woman who was shot in her vehicle on Cambleton Drive is listed in critical but stable condition. The man who was shot in his vehicle is in stable condition. The third person wasn't wounded. Police stated that all of the shooting victims, including Holt, were randomly targeted.

Williams has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges in the murder of Holt. He also has been charged with three counts of attempted first- and second-degree murder and related charges in connection to the three non-fatal shootings. Williams is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
