Teen Killed In One Of Two Weekend Shootings In Greenbelt
A teen boy was fatally shot Sunday afternoon while a man was killed by gunfire Saturday afternoon, according to Greenbelt Police.
GREENBELT, MD — A teenage boy was found with a gunshot wound Sunday around 1:45 p.m. near Breezewood Court and Cherrywood Terrace.
According to Greenbelt Police, the teen was taken to a nearby hospital but died there. Witnesses reported seeing a silver Infiniti vehicle with dark-tinted windows and no front license plate driving at a high rate of speed ino the area near Cherrywood Terrace and Breezewood Court. The vehicle fired multiple rounds at a group of individuals, which is when the teenage boy was hit by gunfire. After the shooting, the vehicle fled in an unknown direction, Greenbelt Police reported.
On Saturday around 4:45 p.m., Greenbelt Police officers were called to the 6200 block of Springhill Court for a report of a shooting. They found a man with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
