Charges Filed In Fatal Shooting Involving 2 Prince George's County Men
An Upper Marlboro man has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a Capitol Heights man in Landover earlier this month.
LANDOVER, MD — An Upper Marlboro man has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Dequan Clinkscale of Capitol Heights.
On June 7 at approximately 4:40 a.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 400 block of Warfield Drive in Landover for the report of an unresponsive man. Officers found Clinkscale outside in a parking garage with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
During their investigation, detectives identified 33-year-old Aaron Zavier Jefferson of Upper Marlboro as the suspect. They determined that the men knew each other and Jefferson shot Clinkscale during an argument.

Jefferson has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges. He is currently in custody in Fairfax County pending extradition to Prince George’s County.
