Verdict Reached In 2019 Shooting Death Of Man Sitting In Car

A man has been convicted in the shooting death of Edrian Hernandez​, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds sitting in his vehicle.

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD — A 28-year-old man has been convicted of murder in the shooting death of 34-year-old Edrian Hernandez in his car.

On Nov. 7, 2019, around 5 p.m., Raymond Thompson walked up to Hernandez's car that was parked in the 6200 block of Hillmar Circle and fired multiple shots into Hernandez's vehicle, hitting him several times. Prince George's Police arrived and found Hernandez unresponsive in his vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead, according to a police report.

Thompson was convicted on all counts charged, including first-degree murder, use of a handgun in the commission of a violent crime and wear and carry of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure. He faces a maximum of life in prison without the possibility of parole. His sentencing has been scheduled for Nov. 20, the county state's attorney's office stated.
