What's Open, Closed In Prince George's County For Labor Day 2025
Discover what's open and what's closed on Labor Day in Prince George's County, including when your trash will be picked up.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — County government offices and the courts will not be open Monday for Labor Day, including the animal services facility and adoption center, the Brown Station Road sanitary landfill, the Brown Station Road public convenience drop-off center and the electronics recycling acceptance site, the county materials recycling facility, the county organics composting facility, as well as the household hazardous waste acceptance site and the Missouri Avenue solid waste acceptance and recycling drop-off center.
City government offices will be closed.
All county parks will be open for their normal hours.

The Prince George's County Memorial Library System will be closed Monday.

There will not be trash collected Monday with scheduled collections in the county resuming Tuesday. Bulky trash collection will be done by appointment only without any scheduled collections allowed on Monday. In county contracted areas, regular trash collections will be on a slide schedule Wednesday through Saturday. Regular curbside recycling will be collected Wednesday through Saturday.
There will be no curbside trash and recycling pickup in the city of Bowie Monday. It will resume on the next regularly scheduled day.
There will be no yard waste or compost pick-ups for the week in Hyattsville. Regular trash and county recycling routes are not affected.
In Laurel, Monday's trash, recycling and compost collections will be on Tuesday. Tuesday’s residential trash, recycling and compost will be collected on Wednesday with no change to Tuesday’s commercial collections. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday's trash, recycling and composting pickups remain unchanged. There will be no bulk or yard debris pickups this week. The next residential yard debris and bulk pickup is set for Wednesday.
TheBus will not operate on Monday. Regular COVID-19 operations of TheBus will resume Tuesday. The county’s Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services, including dialysis transportation, will not operate Monday. Regular COVID-19 operations of the Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services will resume Tuesday.
PGC311 will be closed Monday and resume regular operations Tuesday. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/.
