WNBA Legend To Shoot Hoops, Talk About Proactive Health Screenings At Saturday Event

WNBA legend and Olympic gold medalist Sheryl Swoopes will be at Saturday's free Health & Wellness expo to talk about health and well-being.

LANDOVER, MD — WNBA legend and three-time Olympic gold medalist Sheryl Swoopes will be at Saturday's free Health and Wellness Expo at the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex.

The event, hosted by Delegate Tiffany Alston, Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk and Chairman Daryl Barnes, will provide Prince George County residents with access to important health services and fresh food. Event attendees can receive complimentary onsite health screenings, register to vote and receive fresh groceries after completing a tour of the Expo.

Swoopes, whose family has been impacted by cancer and other health conditions, will be present to talk about the importance of regular, preventive screenings and how she’s prioritizing her own health so she can continue to show up for her family. She’ll also be “shooting hoops” with Expo attendees and event organizers.

The Saturday event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sports & Learning Complex, 8001 Sheriff Rd., in Landover.
