Anne Arundel Community College will test its emergency siren and campus-wide public emergency notification system at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, on the Arnold campus.
AACCΒ conducts this test once each term to ensure the system is in working order. The system enables theΒ AACCΒ Public Safety Department to simultaneously alert the college community of emergencies, health or safety threats via a siren, message alert scrolling across campus computer screens, phone alert and posting of anΒ AACCΒ emergency webpage.
The siren and public address system mounted on the roof of Truxal Library is 100 decibels at the source and 70 decibels at the campus perimeter. After the siren sounds, the public address system will announce that this is only a test. For information, contact Gary Lyle,Β AACCΒ director of public safety, at 410-777-2315.
