Broadneck Golfers Place Well in Jr. PGA Qualifier

A USGA Junior PGA qualifier was held at the U.S. Naval AcademyΒ GolfΒ Club recently.Β 

Fifty juniors aged 18 and under from the U.S., Canada, and as far away as Columbia competed.Β The top three juniors make it to the Junior PGA tourney.Β 

Taewon Kim from Canada and Alex Church from Timonium were the top qualifiers, followed by Chris Hickman from Centreville.Β

Broadneck residents Garret Moyer took 14th place and Chris Nolte 15th place.Β 

Garrett Moyer is a junior at Broadneck High School and Chris Nolte is a freshman at the school. Both look forward to the upcoming golf season.Β

Other Brodneck residents participating in the event included Pat Owen, club pro at the U.S. Naval Academy and Mike Cumberpatch, a head USGA official.Β
