The dedication of the Robert E. Kauffman Theater takes place this Wednesday.

Severance Package for Martha Smith 

The Capital reported last week on the Anne Arundel Community College’s Board of Trustees severance agreement with retiring President Martha Smith.

The college will retain Smith’s services after she steps down in August of 2012 for a number of years at the cost of $692,000 in back sabbatical pay.

Dedication of Kauffman Theater

The “,” facility dedication will be held on Wednesday, 7 p.m., at the Pascal Center for the Performing Arts. The program will include tributes, performances by AACC theater, dance and music groups and a reception. The event is free but tickets are required; any tickets not reserved in advance will be available at the door. To RSVP, call 410-777-2457.

There will also be a free art exhibit, titled “Celebration of the Life of Robert E. Kauffman” coordinated by Darrell Conley in connection with the theater dedication of the in the Pascal Center on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

AACC Alumni Baseball Game Scheduled 

In celebration of the 50th anniversary season, AACC Baseball is inviting alumni (and their family and friends) to come share memories and past glories in the Pioneers’ inaugural Alumni Baseball Game at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, on the Charles “Skip” Brown Baseball Field on the Arnold campus.
