ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Annapolis Holiday Market has moved to downtown Annapolis this December while the City Dock is under construction.

This year, the holiday market is on the front lawn of St. John's College, near the intersection of College Avenue and St. John's Street. This puts the market about a block from the Calvert Street Parking Garage, which has over 700 free parking spaces weekday evenings and all day on weekends, and a block from shopping and dining venues on Maryland Avenue and State Circle.

The market has free admission on all days.

The Annapolis Holiday Market will feature about 100 vendors, specialty food stalls, and festive entertainment, organizers said. Visitors can shop for handcrafted gifts, such as jewelry, pottery, glass art, and home décor from local and regional artists and crafters while enjoying holiday beverages, including hot chocolate, apple cider, and spiced wine.

Traditional holiday market foods will be available, including bratwursts, crab soup, pretzels, pickles, cheeses, and sweet treats like strudels and cookies.

“This holiday market has helped promote downtown Annapolis as a regional holiday shopping and entertainment destination, which is now recognized as one of America’s Top 10 Christmas towns,” said Erik Evans, the event organizer, in a news release. “We hope that while you are here, you will also check out some of the other holiday events, including Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade, Santa Speedo Run, Midnight Madness, and the Kwanza Celebration, and shop the many great stores and restaurants in downtown Annapolis.”

Within a block of the holiday market, you can check out the Christmas tree exhibit inside the Maryland Statehouse, which features trees representing each county in the state plus Baltimore City, and the light canopy over Maryland Avenue, which is filled with restaurants, boutiques, galleries, antiques shops, a coffee shop, a bookstore, a record shop, and more.

One block from State Circle is the popular Main Street area with additional shopping and dining options.

The Annapolis Holiday Market will have visits from Santa, photo opportunities like the holiday market archway, and more.

Admission to the market is free. Dates and hours are:

  • Thursday, Dec. 18, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 19, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 20, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 21, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Parking options include the Calvert Street Parking Garage (19 St. Johns St.), which is free weekday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday. Whitmore Parking Garage (25 Clay St.) and Gotts Court Parking Garage (25 Northwest St.) are about three blocks from the market.

Tour bus groups and rideshare services can drop off on St. Johns Street near the market entrance.
