Save Time and Register for Eight Week CoursesΒ
If you are pressed for time for earning college credit, you can enroll in Anne Arundel Community Collegeβs eight-week term that begins mid-March.Β Courses offered for eight weeks or less cover the same depth of material as in a regular term, but the work is compressed into a shorter time period. More than 140 courses are offered. And for those who work during the day, you can choose courses offered after school hours, on Saturdays and online. An Author's VisitOn Thurs., Feb. 24, at 2 p.m., the βWriters Reading @ AACC,β series is featuring a reading and booksigning by Jehanne Dubrow, poet, author of three poetry collections and an award-winning book, βThe Hardship Postβ (2009). Dubrow is an assistant professor in creative writing and literature at Washington College. The event is free. On Fri., Feb. 25, atΒ 11 a.m., a freeΒ βAfro-Puerto Rican Dance Workshopβ featuring the performing group BomblΓ© of Philadelphia will be held in the Student Union dining hall. Local families should make sure and check out the AACC Kids in College and EXPLORE summer camps and summer classes open house this Sat., Feb. 26, from 9-11 a.m. in the Center for Applied Learning and Technology Room on the Arnold campus. Project Run-a-WayOn Sun., Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. in the Pascal Center for the Performing Arts, AACC is presenting a Black History Month event titled, βProject Run-a-Way,β an interactive, multimedia theatrical production that dramatizes the lives of real people who ran away from slavery in search of freedom. The event is sponsored by the Black Student Union and presented by Historic Annapolis Foundation. This is a free event. For more information, call 410-777-1955.
